While it’s important to live in the now, it’s vital that you set your sights beyond what you’re seeing right in front of you for you to be able to see the bigger picture. Everything from picking your outfit the night before to investing in a life insurance, every step that you make towards preparing for the rainy days, you’ll thank yourself later on. Being in the working class, it can be hard to stand out amongst a crowd of people that all wants to have their chance at the ball. It’s not so much anymore about being talented than being one step ahead of everyone else. So while everyone’s standing there, waiting in line to get a swing at the ball, you should have already hit homerun. Question is, how do you get ahead? It’s simple: planning. As quoted by author Antoine de Saint Exupéry, “A goal without a plan is just a wish”. Now here are more reasons why you should stop saying que sera sera.
Weighing Pros and Cons.
If you’re planning ahead, you’ll have been able to afford to weigh your pros and cons. Because if what you’re dealing with is still far ahead, you need not worry about it right away and your judgment won’t be clouded by urgency. Instead, you’ll be able to optimize your time, exhaust all your resources, and come up with the best plan possible. And it’s always better to have weighed something before coming to a conclusion, especially if you’re looking to take a risk. All successful people have had to take a risk in order to get a big return. It’s the basic rule of Finance. And planning is definitely one of the key factors that make successful people successful. Planning not only makes you level-headed but you’ll also keep yourself from making unnecessary impulsive decisions. Because as opposed to dealing with something because it’s urgent, you’ll be able to focus on finding the best option, and not just find the quickest fix.
When you’re used to planning, you’ll have the chance to decide what’s really important rather than just taking on what’s right in front of you on a daily basis. And it’s very important to know how to prioritize if you want to have balance in your life. You’ll know when to make time for things that are of true importance to you and those can wait until later on. That way you won’t have to compromise one for the other and you’ll stay organized and not drown yourself in deadlines.
You have less chance of failing because you will have been thoroughly prepared. You have a game plan and even if things don’t go exactly as planned, you’d still wind up doing a better job than everyone else who didn’t plan ahead. Because even though plans may fail, planning is absolutely essential. It also gives you a chance to come up with plans B-Z if the first one doesn’t work out. After all, it’s better to be prepared for something than trying to scramble for another solution when the impending problem does arise.
